Lausanne university was founded in 1537 as a theology school and became a university in 1890. Nearly 13,500 students and more than 2000 researchers’ study and work at the university. The university has more than 1500 international students coming from all around the world and from more than 120 different nationalities, allowing the exchange programs with world-renowned universities possible. With the Ecole Polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) the university forms a vast campus close to Geneva lake.

UNIL offers a wide range and choice of courses, either in natural sciences or humanities. You can apply for three-year bachelor’s degree, and the master’s, a second cycle of 3 to 4 semesters which gives the opportunity to specialize in a field of study or to acquire an interdisciplinary training. You may also apply for a postgraduate course (Master of Advanced Studies and doctoral schools) allow you to acquire more knowledge and integrate the labor market easily.

EPFL which is ranked among the best universities in the world, has more than 350 laboratories and research groups on campus. More than 10000 students studying at EPFL can benefit from the most innovative and productive scientific institutions in the world offering them advanced training courses for engineers, architects or scientists.
